1. Introduction

Round Trip Golf ("we," "our," or "the app") is a group golf trip planning application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our service. By using Round Trip Golf, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information from your use of the app.

Account and profile: When you sign in with Google or other third-party providers, we receive the profile information you authorize (such as name and email) to create and manage your account. When you sign in via email link, we store your email address for authentication.

Trip and wishlist data: We store trip names, dates, itineraries, course selections, member lists, chat messages, photos, ratings, and other content you create. We also store wishlist items, folders, and preferences.

Phone numbers: We may collect phone numbers when you add them to your profile, when you invite others to a trip by phone, or when you provide a phone number for sign-in or verification. We use phone numbers solely for sending trip invitations and authentication-related messages (e.g., verification links for logins). See Section 4 for details on our use of Twilio.

Usage and technical data: We may collect device type, browser information, IP address, and general usage patterns to operate and improve the service.

3. How we use your data

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Round Trip Golf service
• Authenticate you and manage your account
• Send trip invitations, sign-in links, and verification messages
• Enable collaboration on trips (sharing with members, chat, etc.)
• Personalize your experience and display relevant content
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal information for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Phone numbers and Twilio

When we send SMS messages (e.g., trip invitations or login verification links), we use Twilio as our messaging service provider. Twilio processes phone numbers and delivers messages on our behalf. We use phone numbers and Twilio only for:

• Trip invitations: Sending SMS invitations to people you invite to collaborate on a golf trip
• Login and verification: Sending verification links or codes when you sign in or verify your identity

We do not use your phone number for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than invitations and authentication. Twilio's use of data is governed by their privacy policy. We require Twilio to protect your information and use it only for delivering messages on our behalf.

5. How we use Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we use your Google account information (e.g., name, email address) only to authenticate you and to provide and improve the Round Trip Golf service. We do not use Google user data for advertising or sell it to third parties. Our use of Google user data is limited to the practices described in this Privacy Policy and complies with Google's API Services User Data Policy.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers that help us operate the app, including:

• Twilio: To send SMS messages for invitations and authentication
• Resend: To send transactional emails (invitations, sign-in links)
• Firebase (Google): For authentication and account management
• Hosting and infrastructure: To run and deliver the app (e.g., Vercel)

These providers are bound by confidentiality and data processing agreements. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights and safety, or with your consent.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and support app functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Security and retention

We use industry-standard measures (encryption, secure connections, access controls) to protect your data. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time.

9. Your choices

You can access, update, or delete your account and data through the app or by contacting us. You may revoke our access to your Google account at any time in your Google Account settings. If you provided a phone number, you can request its removal by contacting us.

10. Children

Round Trip Golf is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
